Getting There:

The 61850ug meeting will take place at the Siemens facility located at 7000 Siemens Rd, Wendell, North Carolina 27591. The venue is located approximately 35 minutes away from the Raleigh/Durham Airport, which is 32 miles or 52 kilometers. Your primary mode of transportation should be a rental car as there may be little to no Uber/Lyft from Wendell back to the major cities where the majority of hotels are located.

Transportation Options:

• Car Rental
  • All major American car rental firms have a presence at the RDU Airport, so you can book ahead of time and go straight to your rental vehicle.
  • A rental car will be the most convenient option, as a taxi or rideshare option may be limited from Wendell back to the Raleigh area.
• Taxis and Rideshare
  • To/from Raleigh and Wendell
  • Taxi fare: $75-95 each direction
  • Uber/Lyft: $65-75 each direction
• Airport Shuttle Bus
  • There are only shuttle buses from the airport to your hotels located in Raleigh. No shuttle will take you to the smaller cities or Wendell outside of Raleigh.
• Public Transport (bus)
  • Travel duration is longer than 3 hours (use this option only as an emergency)
  • Bus fare: $13-20 each direction

Transportation from Wendell to the evening meeting location (Wednesday, October 15th, from 5-8pm local time):

• There will be a FREE bus transport from the Wendell venue to the evening event in Raleigh. 
• This bus will return at night to the Wendell venue if that is where you parked your rental car.
