Snohomish County Public Utility District No. 1 (SnoPUD) is a public power and water utility serving Snohomish County and Camano Island in Washington State. SnoPUD provides electric service to more than 380,000 customers and water service to over 23,000 customers, supporting residential, commercial, and industrial customers across a diverse service area.
The District is focused on maintaining safe, reliable, and cost-effective electric and water systems while planning for long-term infrastructure needs. SnoPUD operates and maintains transmission, distribution, and water infrastructure and supports a growing customer base with a strong emphasis on system reliability and operational performance.
More recently, SnoPUD has deployed advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) across its electric and water system and is continuing work through the SnoSMART program to modernize how the distribution system is operated. This includes the deployment of distribution automation devices and the implementation of a modern advanced distribution management and SCADA system to support grid operations. Together, these investments help crews detect outages sooner, isolate issues more precisely, and restore service more efficiently, while providing a strong operational foundation for the electric system over the long term.
